A vision inspired by Montessori wooden toys for toddlers

Our enduring passion is to help promote physical development and confidence in toddlers and babies to give them a head start in life.

Wooden Wonders is a small family business located in Rolleston, Canterbury, specialising in our hand-crafted Pikler Triangle and other Montessori style wooden toys for toddlers and babies.

Our inspiration came from having a Montessori teaching background, a builder’s background and a love for creating children’s climbing equipment to promote their physical development. We first designed the Triangle for our daughter to explore and enjoy from 6 months of age.

We understand the importance of allowing children to move and develop in their own time and space. The Triangle, Ramp and Mini Pikler enable your developing children to hit age-appropriate coordination and developmental milestones. 

Natural wooden toys carefully designed with the safety of your child in mind

All of our products are hand-made from solid timber, they are strong and have rounded edges to create a safe finish for little hands. They can be supplied as natural wood or finished with a Danish oil that is a food-grade, non-toxic oil.

These are a fantastic investment in any home, toy library or preschool environment where many children can enjoy the benefits they offer.

We recommend our Pikler triangle and ramps to be used by children from ages 6-months to 5-years with a weight limit of 50kg.

Our Mini Pikler Triangle and Seesaw is recommended for ages 2-5 years or for when children are confident with their balance.

All of our products align with New Zealand safety standards. There is no assembly required.
